ICDA Staff Medhat Adib joined the agency as Finance Director in early 2005. Medhat is responsible for all aspects of financial and management and accounting including budgets, financial statements, taxes and audits, and also monitors all capital expenditures as part of the management team. Medhat brings over nine years experience in accounting and holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Banha with a specialization in Accounting. Medhat was born in Cairo, Egypt and came to the U.S. in 1995. Medhat is married with two children and lives in Bothell.Brent Butler is the Sustainability Project Coordinator. His current project involves improving the sustainability of and around the ‘green streets’ on Maynard Avenue South and South Main Street. After moving to Seattle in 1994, Brent served as Vice Chairperson of the First Hill Community Council and in that capacity he helped First Hill residents protect affordable housing during the expansion of the Washington State Trade and Convention Center. Upon completing his studies at the University of Washington, where he received his Master in Urban Planning and at Harvard University, where he received Master of Design Studies, Brent returned to Seattle and joined the Inter*Im team. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he loves the outdoors and sailing, and always strives to incorporate environmental justice and sustainability into his planning work.
Tom Im, Neighborhood Planner, has been with Inter*Im for over eight years and is responsible for issues of transportation, urban design, land use, and housing. Tom was born in Salt Lake City and Tom’s family lived throughout the US until his family decided to go back to their home country, Korea, where Tom lived for six years. Tom received his Bachelor degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Masters degree at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. After receiving his Masters degree, he attended the University of British Columbia for three years, studying Urban Planning. Tom has recently been trying to renovate his house over the last year and he blames the sudden appearance of a few white hairs, a slowly receding hairline, and a few extra pounds on this experience. Unlike his other compatriots at Inter*Im, Tom has neither kids nor a spouse, though his parents are applying various methods of coercion to make him concede to the humdrum of everyday life. |
