Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Ron Sims, will be the Keynote Speaker for our event on September 10th!
Living “sustainably” is much more than just the green technologies that have multiplied in recent years—as marvelous and important to maintaining our contemporary lifestyle though they may be—and InterIm CDA has been walking the walk since back when “green” was just a color.
On September 10th, 2010, InterIm CDA will show you what “sustainability” means to our organization: in particular, more than just the recent technological innovations, sustainability means meeting community needs in a way that supports cultural continuity and identity, community building, equity, long term stability and viability, and is fueled by our conviction about the inherent value of people being able to live their lives with dignity and joy.

It’s now July, which means our annual pig roast is coming up! This year marks our 35th year hosting this fun community gathering. Come help turn the pig and enjoy the potlucks on Friday evening and Saturday at noon. The pig begins roasting at 8pm on Friday and is turned continuously overnight. InterIm CDA is purchasing a local and sustainably raised pig that has access to pasture at all times and is not medicated. Such pigs are more expensive than the more typical, industrially raised pigs. Please consider supporting our community event with a donation of $25-$500 through this link. We hope to see you there!
